GEICO에서 긴급출동서비스 비용 환급받기 - How to reimburse the fee you paid for emergency road service from GEICO
2013년 12월 7일, 텍사스에서 아칸소로 돌아오던 중 텍사스 데니슨 근처 내리막 빙판에서 차가 미끄러져 180도 회전을 했다.
다행히 지나가는 차가 없어서 큰 사고로 이어지지는 않았지만 다시 방향을 바꾸기 위해 애쓰다 갓길로 차가 미끄러져 쳐박혀버렸다.
앞뒤로 움직이며 차를 빼보려고 애를 썼으나 이미 눈은 얼어서 헛바퀴만 돌았다. 한 10여분 용쓰다 포기하고 보험사 ERS(Emergency Road Service)에 전화를 했으나 대기시간이 너무 길어 일단 통화 종료... 길가는 다른 차들에게 도움을 요청했으나 다들 체인이 없어 도와주지는 못하고 대신 경찰을 불러줬다. 약간의 시간이 흐른뒤 체인을 감은 경찰차가 멀리서 느릿느릿 다가오는게 보였고, 경찰이 내 옆으로 와서 다친덴 없는지, 차는 운전 가능한지를 물어봐 주었다. 다행히 차는 아무런 문제가 없는 상태였고 단순히 길가에 빠져서 못나오는 상황이었기에 경찰은 사설 렉카를 불러주고 유유히 가버렸다.
역시나 시간이 좀 흐른뒤 렉카가 와서 힘겹게 내 차를 도로로 빼 주었고, 비용으로 $80을 받아갔다 -_-;;; 나는 내 보험사에 청구해줄 수 있냐고 물어보았으나 쿨하게 안된다며...
일단 내 보험 커버리지에 ERS가 포함되어 있으므로 아칸소로 복귀 후에 인터넷을 뒤져 어떻게 하면 내 $80을 돌려받을 수 있을지 찾아보았고 드디어 오늘(2014년 1월 6일) $80 수표를 우편으로 받을 수 있었다. 환급을 받는 방법은 아래와 같다.

On Dec 7th 2013, I was driving from Texas to Arkansas on icy road. Nearby Denison TX, My car spun 180 degrees on downhill path. Fortunately there is no car except me so that no accident happened but when I was trying to turn the head to the right way, my car was slipped and stuck on shoulder. I was trying to get my car to move back and forth but snow is already became ice. I tried for around 10 minutes and then I called my insurance company to request a wreck car but I was waiting too long time so that I hung up the phone and shouted HELP ME to people passing me. Some people stopped but they didn't have a chain to get my car out so a one called a police for me. After for a while a police car putting chains on its tires was approaching me and the officer asked me about the conditions like not hurt and drivable. After he check my conditions he called a wreck car for me so that I should wait for another while. Finally the wreck car came up and get my car out of shoulder and took $80 for service fee.(even though I asked him to claim to my insurance but he answered he couldn't.)
I already have ERS coverage in my insurance so that I would search information how to reimburse my precious $80 after coming back and today, Jan 6th 2014, finally I got $80 with a check from my insurance, GEICO. These are how to reimburse ERS fee:
